Kira Plastinina

So as many of you guys know Kira Plastinina USA went bankrupt this past month and all 12 of her stores in the U.S had to be shut down. And while many of you are sad (or not) none of you as sad as me.

While I won't say I was madly in love with the patent purple jackets, knee length fur gilets, or the blinding bubblegum pink, I am sad because I (and three other lovely ladies) were supposed to have a t-shirt come out with Kira Plastinina.

Back in October, I (and 3 other girl: Lois & Farah) won an MTV/Kira contest and were flown out to New York where we filmed an MTV spot (60 sec. commercial) of us designing a t-shirt with Kira Plastinina, to be sold in stores and online. The spot was called, 'This Designer is Me' . The whole experience was amazing, Kira was so sweet, shy but nonetheless a really nice girl. Later in December we got the DVD for the commercials (we each had our own) and they were amazing, I loved it. We even had our pictures up in her stores. But, I couldn't wait for the T-shirs to come out most of all...

Later in December we got word that Kira Plastinina was closing her stores in the U.S and we knew this couldn't be good for our commercials so we contacted some MTV people and asked them what was up and they confirmed our fears no commercial and no t-shirt.

I was sad, but most of all embaraased I told literally the whole world I was going to be on MTV. Well more like my mom did- but everyone in my life and people I didn't even know, knew about the commercial and t-shirt. I wasn't worried about looking like a lier I had proof I'd done it, it was just kind of like just really hyped up and then it was like POOF gone, ya know?

That whole experience taught me in the words of Eric Matthews, "Lifes tough get a helmet" like whatever get over it. I will admit I cried a bit... but I mean theres a war going on and I'm sulking over a t-shirt-- not cool.
But whatevesss its done, it was a fun time got to go to New York for free, got to meet a designer, met some awesome people, made some lifelong friends, shot a commercial (even though it didn't air), kind of a once in a lifetime experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

(sorry such a long post just kind of had to get it all off my chest.)

Oh, and I also tried to upload the commercial for you guys to see but for some reason it won't let me....
I'll keep trying.
